Teachers' cocktail hour at the Ngukurr
Community Education Centre
25 October 2005

Simon rang and asked if I could drop down and take some pictures at the school at 6.15pm.

It was still above 30 degrees but the day milder than it had been earlier when I arrived to take the pictures. The party was in full swing.

During the day this week the heat had been so intense that concrete was going off while still in the cement mixer...So the teachers were using cooler air in the last light of the day, working swiftly to make a mosaic turtle at the end of the Roper country garden.

Peter had a pretty cool job!

And done! ... just three weeks to complete the whole thing now!

I rode home on the bike through just another Ngukurr evening...
