Third Operation July 2001
warning - picture from the operating theatre, below,
may upset some viewers!
We went to Sydney on 26 June to see Dr Helen Wheeler, carrying with us some bad scans, some resurgent symptoms, and clothes for [a] coming straight home [b] no further treatment, travel north to the beach and [c] hospital. Hospital was the immediate decision, for operation on Monday 2 July.
This is Sydney, we must, as usual, be in the Neurosurgery Ward at the Royal North Shore Hospital. Great view, shame about the admission requirement ...
Robert Yang and his wife Li Lin, and their children Tianji and William came to visit before the operation.
note
the foot massage, always in high demand!
Dr Raymond Cook has provided these three photos
[1] the tumour on the top of Margaret's head, as it
appeared in the operating theatre, after shaving down.
The lifesaver like objects are called 'fiducials' and are glued to the head
before the planning MRI for the operation. They assist during the operation
in enabling the surgeon to see clearly where he is heading.

[2] taken four weeks after the operation

[3] same occasion, evidence of considerable improvement
