Fish out of Water
Cowell, South Australia
30 September 2006

(with apologies for jpeg effects - jagged edges in the sky - in some images)

Cowell sits on the historically important Franklin Harbour on the eastern side of the Eyre Peninsula. A fishing port with attractive focus on wonderful mangrove areas right next to the jetty, a community maintained jetty and a community built walkway through the mangroves.

Australia's most important fisheries are here, more particularly based in Port Lincoln, another 150km away to the south.

The importance of the fish was evident in this wonderful community construction at the entrance to the town.

We could not drive by and fail to honour them!
